Esther was always involved with music. Esther played the recorder
in an amateur recorder orchestra that she helped found. In
addition, many of Esther's friends were musicians, and sometimes
their children were musicians.
Joanna Bramel was a musician (recoder) from Palo Alto who studied
music under Esther's friend, George Houle (Chairman of the
Stanford Music Department). Note that Joanna Bramel played music
under Donald Pippin (harpsichord), at the "Old Spaghetti Factory"
in the San Francisco North Beach area (at one time a cultural center).
Esther's interest in music was an interest she shared with well
known musicians such as Maestro Joseph Krips, Sandor Salgo, and
Darius Milhaud (all these people appear in this web-site).
The dinner with Maestro Krips was one of the rare cultural events
that Esther's husband actually accompanied her.
